IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Classes take place 4pm-4:45pm at the Surf City Community Center

This 45-minute combined tap and ballet class is a great introduction to dance for your preschooler! Our goal is to develop a love for dancing and to have fun while learning some basic steps. We explore fundamental dance elements such as place, time, force, and form. Kids love dancing to their favorite songs and with different props each week.

Dress Code:
Students must arrive at dance class in clothes allowing for full body movement. While it is not mandatory, students may prefer to wear proper dance attire such as a leotard, skirt, and ballet tights. Students must have tan Mary Jane tap shoes with a velcro strap and pink ballet shoes, preferably without strings. Jazz dancers must have tan soft sole jazz shoes.

Recital:
In the second half of the year, in session 2 (January - May) we will begin learning choreography for our optional end-of-year recital where dancers have the opportunity to perform dances in all three styles onstage.

•Please keep in mind your child will be participating in the studio classroom that is inside the gymnasium. As to better instruct the class without distractions and for spacing concerns our instructor asks that parents wait outside of the studio room and in the gymnasium during the entirety of the class
•All parents or guardians must remain on property and inside the gymnasium while your child is participating in the program. If parents/guardians leaving the property or gymnasium become a routine, participants may be dismissed from the program at the supervisors discretion.
